Waggel

Waggel is a startup Insurtech offering fully digital pet insurance.

Founded by Andrew Leal and Ross Fretten, the company offers consumers quotes for coverage for their pet in as little as 30 seconds. It offers pet owners adjustable rates to suit different budgets, and can include up to £10,000 Annual Coverage for reoccurring medical conditions, with dental included. Once covered, users are able to file a claim through the app's personalised dashboard and track its progress in real time.

Waggel offers a number of value-add incentives to its members on top of its insurance, including free consultations with a dog behaviour specialist, and free video calls to vets through its partnership with FirstVet.

In March 2021 Waggel's Co-Founder Ross Fretten revealed the company had grown by 734% in the past year.

In January 2023 Waggel partnered with vet tech firm, Vet-AI.  Waggel's cat and dog insurance customers can now benefit from Joii Pet Care’s 24/7 vet video consultations, which usually cost £24 per call, as well as vet nurse consultations and a symptom checker.
