The Helper Bees improves the home care process for care-recipient, caregiver, family and insurance carrier by improving outcomes and decreasing costs. The Helper Bees offer a combination of digital technology and in-home care services, such as personality-based matching for home caregivers. Helpers can complete work such as meal delivery, virtual exercise, general caregiving, errands, housework, or they may simply sit and chat.
The company's products are designed to help payers reduce costs while simultaneously improving health outcomes for older adults. It's services include a nationwide Aging-In-Place Provider Network that provides access to a wide range of non-medical services, a platform that ensures reliable and scalable service fulfilment, and digital claims tools that simplify the claims process, improve data collection, and help detect fraud. The company claims that insurance carriers who use its digital claims technology and in-home care services see on average a 20% cost savings on their home care reimbursements.
The Helper Bees insurance customers include Prudential, Centene Corporation, and Mutual of Omaha.
In June 2020 CNA launched The View From Home, a new program to help long-term care policyholders age independently a home for longer, in partnership with The Helper Bees.
The Helper Bees raised $6m in Series A funding in July 2020.
In August 2021 The Helper Bees announced a new partnership with TCARE - a CMS-approved solution that prevents informal caregiver burnout. The aim of this partnership is to move toward the shared goal of driving better health outcomes and improving the quality of life for care givers and their loved ones.
In January 2022 Helpers Bees secured a $12.8M Series B funding round to help Americans age independently. The announcement comes following a significant period growth in recent months - Helper Bees' revenue has increased threefold in just over a year, with their team team size increasing eight times.
In April 2022 Helper Bees revealed it was working on creating a Ageing-in-Place platform, placing a Request for Information for providers to help them provide more care and support services to help support elderly populations age independently. It is currently working on new services such as meals, home modification and errands after seeing a four-fold growth in demand for such offerings across 2021, but wants to create an even wider network to transform how senior citizens can age independently at home.
In March 2024, The Helper Bees announced it was working with BBC Maestro o provide educational content on its platform for seniors. The expert-led courses have a range of inspirational and creative subjects, including food, photography and music.
