The Demex Group

The Demex Group is a technology company that customises and delivers climate-resilience through financial risk solutions on a global scale.

The Demex Solutions Center offers tailored recommendations and its data analytics services can be licensed to other companies wanting to build their own custom climate risk management solutions. The startup also offers its flagship products, Budget Defender and Precision Markets. The company also offers a weather-related marketing tool, One Perfect Day.

The Demex Group raised $4.2m in Seed funding from Anthemis, IA Capital Group and others in August 2020. The new funds will be used to grow the team, and to support go-to-market for municipalities and enterprise customers.

In 2021 the company launched a free public resource to help understand localised weather variables.

In December 2021 The Demex Group raised $9m in a Series A funding round.

In March 2022 Demex launched a new climate appraisal service, which is designed to provide an assessment of climate-driven risk and an input to help companies to better protect themselves from climate-related risks. 

In August 2023 Demex raised a further $5m from new and existing investors, to enable the company to bring its Retained Climate Risk Reinsurance solution, a purpose-built solution designed specifically for severe thunder storms, to the market.
