The company has created the CareVoice OS, a healthcare operating system built specifically for insurers, which enables a better connected health and insurance ecosystem through integrated customer journey experiences and insurance product design and launch capabilities.
After starting operations in Shanghai, The CareVoice now also operates in multiple markets around the world. Its insurance clients include Ping An Insurance, Zhong An Online P&C Insurance, The People's Insurance Company of China, AXA, Prudential Financial and Generali.
In 2016, The CareVoice launched a SaaS membership services solution integrated with its ratings/recommendations platform for insurers and employers.
In May 2018, the company showed the first signs of its Asian expansion after launching its 'Care' offering in Hong Kong. The Care insurance products target 'untapped market segments', and are created in collaboration with insurers to address specific wellbeing needs or medical risks. It also raised a $2.2 Seed investment round that year, which was used towards upgrading its product platform, accelerating its health Insurtech shift. The company also expanded its team to execute its signed B2B2C contracts and grow its pipeline.
In partnership with Generali Hong Kong, StartupCare Hong Kong provides tailor-made employee health benefits solutions for SMEs with comprehensive health services and cost-effective medical plans for all ages and demographics, with access to a broad network of 2500+ medical providers through Generali’s partnership.
In September 2019 The CareVoice launched the Vibrant Program, an employee benefits program, which uses wearables, gamification, inventive programs and more to encourage engagement and productivity within companies.
In August 2019 The CareVoice announced it had secured $10m in Series A funding (led by Lun Partners Group), and that it was planning to be in a total of five markets within 18 months, with Malaysia being the next likely target.
In September 2019 The CareVoice revealed its latest product, The CareVoiceOS. Available in China and Hong Kong, the operating system enables insurers to deliver cost-effective health plans that are personalised to their customers.
The CareVoice announced further expansions to its “Care” insurance portfolio in Hong Kong in April 2020. SportCare, which targets sports enthusiasts, soft-launched with AXA in Hong Kong. SportCare offers medical insurance coverage, as well as services to enhance and reward performance, and supports the prevention of injuries. It joined Vibrant, a heart-rate based activity tracking program.
CEO Sebastien Gaudin announced in July 2020 that The CareVoice was to expand into Europe and completing a 3-month business development exploration phase. As part of the move, The CareVoice is joining the insurtech and healthtech program Digital Health Innovation Programme.
In November 2020 The CareVoice announced it was expanding in Southeast Asia after successfully developing the mainland China and Hong Kong markets, with nearly 25 insurance clients. Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand are the entry markets, and The CareVoice has already secured a number of local channel partners.
In February 2021, The CareVoice partnered with Cigna Hong Kong to launch Blüüm Woman, a flexible medical protection solution with digital health services to help Hong Kong-based women.
In September 2021 The CareVoice revealed it has secured more capital as part of its Series B round. The round is expected to close in the next six months, with the company aiming to raise an 'eight-digit US dollar figure'. The company has indicated some of the new funds will be allocated to some of the company's upcoming acquisitions, although details on that are scarce at the moment. The CareVoice will also use the funds to roll out its new API-based infrastructure and health ecosystem.
In June 2022 Scott Walchek, Founder of acquired embedded insurtech Trōv, joined the Board of Directors at The CareVoice. The company stated bringing Scott into the company will help with further expansion goals.
Later, in September 2022, Lisa Wardlaw joined the board of directors. She previously founded 360 Immersion, a business consultancy.
During February 2023 the company announced the launch of its Advisory Board, composed of six members. The decision to create the board was taken because the leadership felt it could 'guide the company’s future development in the embedded health category based on market shifts and user needs.'
In the summer of 2023 The CareVoice partnered with insurance middleware platform InsureMO. The new partnership will provide "a fully integrated engagement and policy administration solution for insurers, enabling them to accelerate their digital transformation beyond customer health engagement and offer a more cohesive customer experience."
