Monk AI

Founded in 2019, Monk offers remote vehicle inspections and diagnosis services by leveraging AI to detect vehicle issues in user-taken photos or videos.

Monk utilises computer vision and deep learning to monitor, detect and assess an item's condition based on photos and videos. Once it has reported the damages, its solution is capable of categorising the item and analysing the severity and repair cost. It is currently working with Europe-based companies in the insurance and car rental industries.

Monk partnered with Getaround, a P2P car rental marketplace, in 2019 to access car damages claims data to improve its technology.

In June 2020, Monk.ai raised €2.1m in Seed funding, led by Iris Capital and Plug & Play. Monk stated it would use the funding for R&D, scaling its team, and expanding across Europe.
