Flock offers motor fleet insurance for connected fleets, including self-drive hires, trades and couriers/deliveries. It enables tailored and usage-based pricing, with savings of up to 25% for the safest of drivers, and also offers specialist pricing for electric vehicle fleets. It also offers insights on usage, risky behaviour, and safety.

Flock initially offered drone insurance, including a pay-as-you-fly insurance and safety app for drone pilots, a monthly subscription product, 'Fly Unlimited', and finally, in 2019, it unveiled ‘Flock Enterprise’, a first-of-its-kind insurance and risk management solution for drone fleets. Flock's flagship customer was Texo DSI, a drone survey and inspection company.

In 2018 Flock closed a £2.25m Seed round led by Anthemis, alongside Silicon Valley's Plug and Play, Seed and Speed, and London VC Downing Ventures (who re-invested, having led Flock's pre-seed round in 2016) as well as a syndicate of angel investors.

In 2019 Flock was revealed to be one of Lloyd's Lab's third cohort.

In March 2020, to help with the fight against global pandemic Covid-19, Flock offered a £10,000 support fund for any users leveraging drones to tackle the virus, and froze premium payments.

CEO Ed Leon Klinger announced that Flock was to become the official insurance partner to new government-backed drone initiatives, including covering Coronavirus test drone deliveries for the NHS, in November 2020.

In December 2020, Flock launched Flock Motor, its new commercial auto division. Ahead of the launch, the company revealed it had partnered with insurer NIG (part of Direct Line Group), as well as telematics companies such as Samsara and GEOTAB. It has also landed customers such as Elmo.

In January 2021 Flock made two major announcements. First, it partnered with Sompo International to develop new products for the UAV ecosystem, and second, it launched its self-service platform, Flock GmbH, in Europe to provide instant policies to drone businesses.

In June 2021 LEVL, the UK reseller of Geotab telematics devices, announced it was partnering with London-based insurtech Flock. Through the partnership, LEVL’s customers will be able to access insurance that integrates with their telematics to offer fairer, more flexible insurance pricing. the partnership is currently live in the UK and is due to expand across Europe in 2022.

In July 2021 Flock raised $17m in Series A funding to expand into new European geographies and product lines. The company revealed that in 2020 its revenues grew 38x and welcomed flagship customers such as Jaguar Land Rover’s, The Out, and Virtuo, a leading on-demand car rental app.

In December 2021 Flock stopped issuing new commercial drone insurance policies to focus on its motor fleet insurance product.

During February 2023 the company raised £31.5m ($38m) in a Series B funding round.
