EverQuote is a free and independent insurance marketplace that helps consumers compare quotes on auto, renters, health and, by the end of 2019, commercial insurance.
EverQuote operates an online insurance marketplace in the U.S., connecting consumers with insurance providers. The company's data and technology platform matches and connects consumers seeking to purchase insurance with relevant options from the company's broad direct network of insurance providers.
In June 2019, EverQuote announced that it was expanding its marketplace to include health insurance and renters insurance as well as the existing offerings of auto, home and life insurance.
In October 2019 EverQuote launched its commercial lines marketplace, partnering with Bold Penguin and utilising its infrastructure to accelerate its path to market.
Late in 2019 EverQuote revealed it was developing Sage, an 'in-house sales agency' for life insurance.
In August 2020 EverQuote acquired health insurance agency Crosspointe Insurance & Financial Services, as the former aims to enhance its distribution capabilities. The financial terms weren't disclosed.
EverQuote announced the unexpected passing of its Co-Founder and CEO Seth Birnbaum in November 2020. The Board of Directors appointed Jayme Mendal, the company's President, as its CEO.
