Find out moreDrover offers an all-in-one auto subscription service, taking care of all a customers personal mobility needs such as a car, insurance, tax, servicing and maintenance as part of one package. Subscriptions can last from 1-12 months, and cars can be swapped at any point.
Monthly subscription prices vary, dependant on the type of car and market conditions, and users only have to give a week's notice to end their subscription. The standard package is 800 miles PCM, although additional mileage packages are available, or fees of 10p per extra mile are applied should a driver go over the limit. Deposits (around £300) are fully refundable if the driver/customer is over 25. There are a wide range of cars available, including high-end sports cars and SUVs.
Drover currently works both with end-customers and fleet managers – in 2018 it reported it had over 100 fleet partners.
In May 2019 Drover partnered with OnFido to deploy identity verification technology when on-boarding. Several months later, in August, Drover partnered with flexible car insurance company Zego.
In November of the same year Drover confirmed its partnership with Direct Line Group; Direct Line now insures the startup's consumer vehicle base.
In July 2020 Drover raised $26m in a round co-led by Target Global, RTP Global and Autotech Ventures. The company stated it would use the money to invest in its pricing and personalisation technology, and prepare for further expansion around Europe.
In December 2020 it was announced that Drover was acquired by Cazoo, the online car retailer. Cazoo stated the deal will help them expand into Europe.
