Co-op Insurance

Co-op Insurance is a Manchester-based general insurer supplying insurance quotes on pet, life, health, business, and commercial vehicle insurance, as well as breakdown coverage and accident recovery services by AXA Assistance (UK). Established in 1928, the veteran insurer is currently led by Mark Summerfield, who has been at the helm since 2004.

In 2019, the insurer announced its vehicle repair and maintenance solution, CO-OP Car Care, as officially live. Launched in collaboration with AXA Partners (UK) and Fixter, the service sends a member of the CO-OP Car Care team to collect a customer's car. They then take it for a service or MOT test, assesses the work that's been done, and deliver the car back to the customer. 

Following a 5-year break, Co-op marked its return to the life insurance market with the launch of a new term life product, Co-op Life Cover. The insurer initially stopped selling life insurance in 2013 after agreeing to sell that, along with its investment and pension businesses, to Royal London Mutual.
