The company’s product suite applies image recognition, natural language processing, and other AI-based techniques to unlock insights from medical notes, bills and other documents surrounding a claim.
Its solutions include CLARA Providers, a provider scoring engine that helps connect injured workers with doctors, and CLARA Claims - an early warning system that helps frontline claims teams efficiently manage claims, reduce escalations and understand the drivers of complexity. The company also offers CLARA Litigation, which uses AI insights to detect litigation risk, find the best attorney for the situation, and resolve claims effectively.
CLARA raised an $11.5m Series A round in January 2018 from Oak HC/FT. The company stated it would use the capital to extend solutions to ther lines such as commercial auto, general and professional liability, as well as disability.
CLARA's clients include AON, QBE an Oak HC/FT. In January 2020, Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies adopted the entire product suite in order to further improve its workers' compensation claims operations.
In May 2020 CLARA raised a $25m Series B round, led by growth equity firm Aspen Capital Group. The company stated it would use the funds to extend its product suite, grow its team and expand its global reach.
