Canada Life looks after retirement, investments, Estate Planning, Wealth Management, Investing for Children, Flexible Life Plans.

The company was acquired by The Great-West Life Assurance Company in 2003. In 2019, Great-West Lifeco consolidated its three brands in Canada,[6] and in April 2019, The Great-West Life Assurance Company merged with its sister companies London Life and Canada Life, into the single brand of Canada Life.

Canada Life partnered with telemedicine startup Dialogue in March 2020 to offer its benefit plan customers access to Dialogue's bilingual healthcare platform and integrated health services, which include 24/7 live chat with healthcare professionals.

In April 2021 Canada Life launched a new customisable term life product, enabling its 12m customers to pick the exact term length they want between five and 50 years. The new product also offers flexibility to modify existing coverage without additional underwriting, and optional benefits. My Term replaces the previous Simply Preferred stand-alone term 10, term 20, term 30 and term-to-age-65 products.

In May 2022 Canada Life announced it would be expanding its partnership with Xempus. The collaboration between the two firms is embodied in the “Canada Life bAVnet” portal, where employers can easily view partner and contract data, and transactions can be managed. Employees can use the myXempus portal to view their existing pension schemes and also apply for bAV policies.
