Bikmo

Bikmo insurance is an insurer specifically for cyclists in the UK. It also offers travel insurance designed for adventure sports trips across the world. It is underwritten by Hiscox and has over 15,000 policy holders.

Bikmo has partnerships with Brompton, Deliveroo and Cycle Surgery, amongst others.

In 2018 the startup expanded to Ireland, Germany and Austria.

In May 2020 Bikmo raised a £1.8m investment round, led by Development Bank of Wales. The startup said it would use the funds to support further global growth.

In November 2021 Micro Insurance Company entered into the EU market by partnering with cycling insurance specialist Bikmo to provide digital solutions, in order to encourage Cycle to Work Schemes in Austria. The service warranty product will embeddable into the bicycle loans given by employers. As part of the partnership, MIC will bring their underwriting expertise, whilst Bikmo will control product sales as well as handle the claims process.

In March 2024 Bikmo joined forces with Silverfish, a distributor of cycling products, to offer insurance coverage for Yeti and Norco bikes. This partnership aims to provide comprehensive insurance solutions tailored to the needs of cyclists, enhancing the protection of high-value bicycles

Bikmo was founded in 2014 and is headquartered in Chester, UK, with offices in Munich, Germany and Innsbruck, Austria.
