Benefitfocus is a leading provider of benefits technology. More than 23 million consumers manage all types of benefits in the Benefitfocus cloud. By delivering technology that integrates all benefits in one place, Benefitfocus provides a better way to engage consumers, educate employees and simplify benefit enrolment and management.

In 2019, Benefitfocus introduced property insurance to its benefits platform. Now, its offering covers personal lines property insurance, including auto and renters coverage, available to brokers through Benefitfocus BenefitsPlace. The company has also announced that it's added a greater choice of consumer-directed healthcare (CDH) account options and expanded the life insurance product offerings available within BenefitsPlace.

The following year, in June 2020, Mass Mutual's insurance agency Haven Life partnered with technology platform Benefitfocus. The move enables millions of Benefitfocus' customers to access Salary Protection, a new term life insurance policy that pays an employee's beneficiary the equivalent to the policyholder's paycheck every month — for up to 15 years after initial purchase — if they were to pass away during the coverage period. The product offers an alternative to traditional cover, which generally pays out 1-2x the policy holder's annual salary.
