Find out moreArity is a mobility data and analytics company that was founded by Allstate in 2016. The Arity platform transforms raw sensor data into actionable insights that can be used to predict risk and provide better consumer experiences. It offers solutions for insurance, shared mobility, telematics-based ad targeting and mobile apps. Its services include data origination - helping clients capture data at scale across different types of sensors - and mobility insights. The company holds 10 patents.
Arity was spun out in 2016 after several years of internal technology development. When it launched, it claimed to have data on more than one million drivers and 20 billion miles driven (information was collected through Allstate's Driverwise mobile app).
In 2019, Answer Financial revealed it had teamed up with Drivemode to deliver insurance offers based on their driving behaviour via the Answer Marketplace, which is powered by Arity. Later, in May, Arity teamed up with The Hartford's Y-Risk to establish a model that improves efficiency for the on-demand and shared economy market. In December of the same year, Arity partnered with WeatherBug, a weather forecasting app, to help users commute in a safer manner by providing personalised driver notifications based on weather conditions.
In June 2020, Marsh launched Marsh deliveryPRO for delivery drivers, created in collaboration with AXA XL and Arity. The usage-based, priced-by-the-mile cover means the businesses only have to pay for what they need, and aims to help US businesses as they see an increased demand for delivery services.
In February 2021 Arity announced it was to enter a UBI data partnership with Ford, under which Ford and Lincoln connected cars can choose to use Arity's scoring system to access usage-based insurance.
During April 2023 the company agreed to provide its technology to the Texas Farm Bureau Insurance company, powering a new UBI auto product that rewarded drivers for safe driving.
Later in April, Arity partnered with Connected Analytic Services (a Toyota affiliate) to provide driving data from connected vehicles to auto insurance carriers on behalf of vehicle owners. The new arrangement means Toyota and Lexus connected-car data will go on the Arity platform. CAS, which already provides access to national carriers seeking telematics data, will provide access to more carriers.
Arity has around 400 employees across 3 locations.
