Anthemis Group (originally known as Nauiokas Park) was founded by Amy Nauiokas and Sean Park in 2010. The company has offices in New York, London, Luxembourg and Geneva.
Anthemis focuses on early stage investment of financial services companies. Its target sectors includes payments, wealth and asset management, and Insurance and Risk Management, amongst others.
Anthemis also works with partners to create new businesses in sub-sectors of financial services, such as insurance and banking. Companies that Anthemis have backed in such a way include Kindur, a financial wellness company for retirement.
In 2017, Anthemis partnered with Baloise Group to establish an investment partnership. Anthemis also with extended its investment partnership with MMI Holdings (initially established in 2016) into venture partnership.
In 2018 Anthemis partnered with BBVA to launch a venture creation partnership.
The following year, Anthemis partnered with Barclays PLC to launch the Female Innovators Lab, an innovation centre for female entrepreneurs to connect with their first round of VC funding.
Anthemis closed a $90m Insurtech growth fund, backed by Aflac Global Ventures, Nümberger and Sumitomo Life, in February 2020.
